Mind the Gap!

Diastema refers to the gap between two or more teeth. While it is often seen between two front teeth, it can occur anywhere.

Some causes of diastema include:
– discrepancies in tooth sizes
– missing teeth, causing the present teeth to shift
– an oversized labial frenum, or the tissue that extends from the inside of the lip to the gum tissue

Patient had a 1mm gap between his two upper front teeth. Here at DDCC, we walked him through a range of treatment options:
– orthodontic treatment to move the teeth
– veneers (very thin pieces of porcelain or composite materials) to bond to the outside of the teeth
– crown and bridge work
– teeth replacement

Patient chose to close the gap with a direct composite build up. Now he’s flashing his gap-free smile for the world!

Tired of minding that gap? Schedule your consultation today with DDCC – we don’t just care for your teeth, we care for what you know about your teeth.
